Providing Global Joint Service
To The Warfighter
Welcome to McAlester Army Ammunition Plant's (MCAAP) website.
We are proud of our more than 60 years of service to the warfighter s
of our nation and the important role we fulfill in fighting the
global war on terrorism. MCAAP was originally commissioned as the
Naval Ammunition Depot McAlester on May 20, 1943 and began its first
production in September 1943. On October 1, 1977 the naval facility
was transferred to the Army under the Single Manager for Conventional
Ammunition act. McAlester AAP is a government-owned/government-operated
(GOGO) facility and the premier bomb loading facility for the Department
of Defense (DOD). It is the only plastic bonded explosive (PBX)
bomb loading facility in the U.S. capable of loading large and small
quantities. Our products and services are available to other government
agencies, defense contractors, and foreign allies.
